Types of Residencies
Passive Residency
Designed for individuals who wish to reside in Andorra without engaging in professional activities within the country. The main requirements are:
Financial Means: Proof of sufficient income to support yourself and your dependents, equivalent to 300% of the Andorran minimum annual salary for the applicant and 100% for each dependent.
Investment Requirement: A minimum investment of €600,000 in Andorran assets. Following the 2025 reforms, investments in Andorran financial instruments and debt securities are no longer eligible.
If the investment is made in real estate, each individual property must now have a minimum value of €600,000.
Mandatory Deposit: A refundable deposit of €50,000 to the Andorran Financial Authority (AFA), plus €12,000 for each dependent. This is separate from the investment requirement and must be maintained for the duration of the residency.
Health Insurance: Private medical insurance covering healthcare costs in Andorra.
Passive residency requires you to spend at least 90 days per year in the country.
Active Residency
This residency type is for individuals planning to work or establish a business in Andorra. The main requirements include:
Professional Activity: Securing a job offer from a local employer or establishing your own company in Andorra with a minimum 20% ownership and acting as its administrator.
Social Security Contributions: Enrollment and contributions to the Andorran Social Security system (CASS).
Guarantee Deposit: A refundable deposit of €50,000 with the AFA as a guarantee.
Health Insurance: Private medical insurance covering healthcare costs in Andorra.
Active residency requires you to reside in Andorra for at least 183 days per year.
